Large Fire Breaks out at Coastline Hardware

Maldives National Defence Force and Fire and Rescue Services were called to Coastline Hardware scene at 17.45 pm after a power distribution box caught on fire.
There were hazardous materials at the site causing explosions from inside the shop. This escalated fire very quickly by spreading to the nearby buildings.
Residents in the area are being advised to keep doors and windows shut due to the thick smoke. Nearby roads are closed. and the effected victims were evacuated from the site and taken to evacuation centers
