Fire breaks out at Ma. Kafidhooge
Fire broke out in Ma. Kafidhooge, at 12.25 pm on Monday in the narrow bylanes of Dhilbahaaru Magu.
Nearby houses were effected by the blaze with few shops caught fire and the fire department are trying to contain it from spreading to other places.
There were hazardous materials at the site causing explosions from inside the shop. This escalated fire very quickly by spreading to the nearby buildings.
Residents in the area are being advised to keep doors and windows shut due to the thick smoke. Nearby roads are closed. and the effected victims were evacuated from the site and taken to evacuation centers
Total of 95 were evacuated and 24 were provided with temporary shelter.
