Development of Island Disaster Management Plan In Laamu Dhanbidhoo
Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) training program started at Laamu Dhanbidhoo on 16th July 2016 with 21 participants supported by UNICEF Maldives and LECReD (Low Emission Climate Resilient Development).
The training program will end on 21st July 2016. Participants are trained to conduct vulnerability, capacity and hazard assessment of the island. During the sessions participants will identify potential hazards in the community, develop local emergency plans, evacuation routes, roles and responsibilities of government agencies in assessing and reducing risks, issuing early warnings and planning for response.
